when i put a cd/ dvd in to my drive, it straight away loads windows media player.

what i want to do, is set it so that when it loadsit gives me the option of what i want to do with it.
so auto play.

can anyone tell me how to do this with windows 7?

thanks. :).

When you put the disc in for the first time did it ask you to set all the autoplay options?

Hello Dan,

do the following:
1. press the start button.
2. Type in without the quotes: "autoplay", then press enter.
3. tab to the self-explanatory options, and usually choose by using the up or down arrows, what you would like to do with regard to that option presented.

alternatively, if you'd just like to restore everything to default, then tab to reset all to defaults, press the button and then tab to Save.

Regards,

and as always, another thought pops up just after I hit the post reply,

Personally, I'd set all of the options to ask me each time or if I'm annoyed at the ask me each time, do nothing, and manually check it out myself, because you never know when someone comes along with a dodgy cd/dvd/Blueray or flash disk/hdd you don't want dodgy exe or bat/cmd files rattling off by themselves. So in my opinion those are two good options mentioned above, and as always, keep your safe-guarding anti-virus/spyware/rootkit/whatEver programs up-to-date.

regards,
